Custom Private Projects
Our Custom Projects program guides middle school students through creating their own science fair–ready project—from shaping an idea to designing experiments, analyzing results, and preparing a polished poster and presentation. With one-on-one mentorship, students build confidence and develop a competition-worthy project that showcases their creativity and scientific thinking.

School Group Visits & Custom Cohort Projects
BioSpark welcomes school groups for on-site visits and custom-designed, cohort-based workshops tailored to each group’s learning goals and experience level. Through this program, student teams collaborate on an engaging research project that can complement classroom instruction or support science competition preparation. Students develop a shared research question, conduct hands-on experiments, analyze and interpret data, and produce a professional group poster and presentation. This experience builds teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while giving students meaningful exposure to real-world scientific research.
Special Program - Summer Camp with VentureLab

Our 5-day Middle School Biotechnology & Innovation Camp introduces students to the exciting world of biotech through hands-on labs in microbiology, molecular biology, and DNA science. With guidance from our instructors and in collaboration with VentureLab, students also learn essential entrepreneurial skills—creativity, planning, teamwork, and turning ideas into action. By the end of the week, every student develops a small innovation project that blends science with real-world problem-solving. It’s the perfect launchpad for curious young minds ready to explore, create, and lead.
Middle School Biotech Training

Demo Workshops for Middle School Students
Our Middle School Demo Workshops offer a fun, hands-on preview of what students can experience in our full BioSpark biotech programs. During these sessions, young learners get a first look into real lab activities—like DNA extraction, microscopy exploration, and discovering what scientists do every day. These short, interactive workshops are designed to spark curiosity, show students the exciting possibilities in biotechnology, and help families decide if they want to join our more in-depth bootcamps and training programs. It’s the perfect way to explore STEM in a safe, engaging environment before committing to a full workshop.

Hands-On Science They’ll Never Forget
In this immersive 2-day workshop, middle school students step into the role of real scientists as they perform age-appropriate experiments in microbiology, microscopy, and DNA science. They’ll learn how to safely hold and use pipettes, measure tiny liquid volumes with precision, inoculate and observe microbes, stain cells to explore the microscopic world, and even extract DNA with their own hands. Designed to spark curiosity and build confidence, this experience gives students a true feel for laboratory work—offering far more than demonstrations. They do the science themselves, guided by expert instructors in a supportive, interactive environment.
